HIGH ROADS TRADITIONS

Upon accepting ECDC’s invitation to join our Summer Staff Family, you will receive and sign a Conditional Agreement, agreeing to specific dates of employment. Along with your Conditional Agreement, you will be asked to review and agree to behavior guidelines, which we call High Road’s Traditions, that enhance staff unity and performance, as well as the effectiveness of our camp ministry. Listed below are ECDC’s High Road Traditions:

At no time will I behave in an abusive manner towards any member of the ECDC community, including physical, verbal, sexual, and emotional abuse, and neglect. I understand that any type of abuse will not be tolerated and is cause for immediate dismissal.
  3. I agree to keep my appearance neat, clean, and well-groomed. I will model the ECDC modest dress code which includes, but is not limited to: 1) Wearing a clean ECDC issued Staff Shirt daily; 2) Swimwear – One-piece swimsuits for women (no strapless suits)/Board Shorts for men; 3) Closed toed-shoes (Sandals permitted on Beach Day only).                                                        Staff may not wear: 1) Clothing/accessories with inappropriate logos and advertising; 2) Any clothing that is revealing, low-hanging, or significantly and intentionally reveals visible undergarments. No short shorts.

  6. I understand that my behavior outside of camp, including on the Internet, is public and reflects on my relationship with camp, as well as ECDC’s ministry and reputation.
  7. I will honor ECDC’s No-Tech Policy and keep my personal technology, including cell phone, smart watch, etc, out of sight/use during work hours.
  8. I commit to using authoritative techniques to shape the behavior of campers, and will adhere to ECDC’s Camper Discipline Policy. At no time will I behave in an abusive manner including; physical, verbal, sexual, emotional, and neglect towards any member of the ECDC camp community. 9. No matter my role or position at ECDC, I will strive to never leave campers unsupervised.
  10. I will not counsel a camper of the opposite gender unless the camper’s Pod Leader or Head Counselor is present. I will diligently adhere to the “Rule of 3” and hold one-on-one conversations and activities in public view.
